What Is Bacon Jam?

If you’ve never had bacon jam before, let me introduce you to one of the most indulgent, savory-sweet spreads you’ll ever taste. It’s good on burgers, pizza, sourdough, and more. You’ll just want to eat it with a spoon!

Cook the bacon until crispy

Remove from the pan and add in the onions and cook in the bacon grease until soft. Then add the garlic and cook until fragrant.

Next, add hot sauce

Brown sugar and apple cider vinegar

Maple syrup and the bacon back in

Now you’re going to simmer this until it reduces, about 10 minutes.

And now you have delicious bacon jam, ready to put on anything!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 lb bacon chopped
  • 1/2 yellow onion diced
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 c apple cider vinegar

Method
 

  1. Cook the bacon until crispy then remove from pan.
    Add the chopped onion and saute until soft then add garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
    Add the remaining ingredients along with the bacon and cook down until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Enjoy on EVERYTHING. Seriously so good.
