Stamppot (Netherlands)

Ingredients
  

  • Fried Bacon bits
  • 2.2 lbs boiled potatoes
  • bunch of kale
  • 70 g butter
  • 150 ml milk
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 lbs sausage boiled
Gravy
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 c beef stock

Method
 

  1. fry bacon, chop and set aside
  2. boil potatoes until fork tender, boil sausage and add kale into the potatoes in the last 6 minutes to cook.
  3. set the sausage to the side and mash the potatoes and kale together ,then add the butter and milk and seasoningsĀ 
Make the gravy
  1. Melt the butter then add flour and cook 1 minute, slowly add beef broth whisking constantly until it thickens.
  2. serve with seeded mustard and sliced sausage. top the potato's with bacon and gravy.
